“And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb. And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach.” (Genesis 30:22-23)
I want this to sink deep down into your soul, heart, and being, so it becomes your heartbeat. Let it fill every breath in your lungs and in your body, let it course through your bloodstream. God has remembered me. The word remember is very interesting.
AND GOD
In Genesis 30:22, the Bible says, “…And God remembered Rachel and God hearkened to her and opened her womb.” I will insert another word. “And God remembered Rachel. And God hearkened to her. And God opened her womb.” I like that. “And God, and God, and God”. Every time you see the phrase “And God,” it means that He is making an entrance into a place or situation and getting involved. Like in Psalms 24:7 where it says, “Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.” So, it means that when God remembered Rachel and hearkened unto her, God opened her womb. We may be tempted to think that that word or that verse is speaking of memory. However, God is not suffering from amnesia.
- That scripture and other scriptures like it that speak about memories are making a statement about seasons and
- a confirmation of a time.
- So, it is that God entered a season that was set for Rachel’s situation to be turned around and it was.
When you look at the DEFINITION of the word remembered:
- One of the definitions says, “to regain the memory, keep in mind, and remain aware of.” For example, “Oh, I remember you.”
- It also means to mention a person to another at any timely greeting. “Do you remember so and so?”
- Even in technology, the word relates to an appliance or a computer to perform a programmed activity at a specific time or at a scheduled moment like when you set your alarm.
- So, that means that it came to pass that at Rachel’s appointed time and season, the Bible says God opened her womb (Genesis 30:22).
Something shall be opened in our lives. Every door that the enemy has closed shall be opened in our lives. We are going to pray that they do.
Instances when God remembered someone
- Genesis 8:1 says, “And God remembered Noah.” When God remembers you, He brings an end to the flood of judgement or frustration.
- In Genesis 19:29, God remembered Abraham. Lot was delivered because Abraham was delivered. When God remembers you, He brings deliverance to you and your loved ones (Genesis 19:29). Before this month ends, you will receive a message that your loved ones are delivered from danger and calamity.
- And God remembered Rachel (Genesis 30:22-23). When God remembers you, He terminates reproach and shame. Whatever constitutes reproach and shame in your life comes to an end this season, regardless whether it is the reproach of singleness, poverty, joblessness or what have you, in Jesus’ Name.
- When God remembers you, He grants you supernatural openings. God opened Rachel’s womb. A door can open because you’re remembered. A closed destiny can open up supernaturally.
- When God remembers you, He fulfills your age-long expectations (Gen. 30:22-23). God can cause things that have been on your heart for years to happen. Yearnings, desires and aspirations come to pass. Tonight, God will remember you, in Jesus’ Name.
What are the things that are likely to happen when God remembers you?
What are the things that you will begin to look out for now that you have entered a new season? Now that you have entered a programmed and scheduled time for things to happen, your eyes will begin to see things happen because you are in a new season. You have now entered a time that God will begin to do great things in your lives.
- He will open every door closed by the enemy. Every door the enemy has closed begins to open. I decree and declare to every door to be opened right now. The Bible said God hearkened unto her and opened her womb (Genesis 30:22-23).
- When God remembers a man or woman, He will bring an end to every bondage and He will deliver him or her from the hands of task masters (Exodus 3:6-10).
- When God remembers someone, He will relocate them from a place of desolation
to a place of recognition.
• In 2 Samuel 9:1-7, God remembered Mephibosheth. Prior to that, he had been forgotten in an isolated place called Lodebar. - When God remembers a man, it is his time of favor. “…Not by power nor by might but by My Spirit…” (Zechariah 4:6). In the time of favor, God is essentially saying it is time to bless or promote my son or my daughter. Pray that God will relocate you. Psalms 102:13 says, “Thou shall arise and have mercy upon Zion…”
- When God remembers a man, his season will change. Job was afflicted for a season, but God remembered him, and that season changed from affliction to joy. Job 42:12 says, “So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.”
What makes God remember one?
In 1 Samuel 1:18-19, it was noted that Hannah’s countenance was no more sad, after which there was a knowing of her by her husband that made God to remember her. There had been knowings between them in the past that yielded no children. One thing she did differently was that she received and believed the WORD. Because of that, her countenance was no more sad. Sadness closes the door of miracles while gladness opens your door with God. Her countenance was no more sad. The joy of the LORD is a key to being remembered by God.
BILL OF RESPONSIBILITIES – WHAT TO DO TO REMAIN IN THE SEASON OF REMEMBRANCE
A) You must make Jesus your LORD & Savior: 1 John. 3:8 says, “He that committeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil.” Furthermore, 2 Corinthians. 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.”
B) You must pray violent prayers: Genesis 30:1 says, “…Rachel envied her sister and said unto Jacob, give me children or else I die.” You must be desperate for God, meaning, Him or nothing. Also, Matthew 11:12 says, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and the violent taketh it by force.” Lastly, James 5:16 confirms that effectual fervent prayer has power.
C) Being joyful is a key to being remembered by God: Dance and praise God to let the devil know he is too small to make you lose your joy or to determine your joy (1 Samuel 1:18-19). o The premise is this: It is neither cheap nor common for God to remember me. Therefore, I will dance specially and uniquely for God to remember me among all the inhabitants of the earth. I cannot hold my shout! Make a joyful noise to the King!!
D) You must give violent offerings: A violent offering is that which you want to give but your hand refuses to move. Now, that is a violent offering. So, you have to close your eyes and say, “this one must go.” o In 1 Kings 3:4, the Bible says, “And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there: for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.”
E) You must be violently obedient: In John 2, at Cana of Galilee, there was a wedding where wine ran out and the people wanted more. Jesus’ mother, Mary, steps in to offer the solution of having Jesus intervene, which He initially appears to resist doing, at which point she instructs the servants to do whatever Jesus commanded (John 2:3-5). The significance of this exchange is that Jesus was not the Master of Ceremony, rather he was simply an invited guest (verse 2). Jesus eventually saved the day by providing a very unconventional solution to the problem, which ordinarily would have been balked out. But the obedience of the servants, against reason, yielded the first miracle Jesus ever performed! Lesson: Isaiah 1:19 says, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” First things first, to benefit from this, Acts 3:19 says, “Repent ye therefore and be converted that your sins be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of God.”
Prayers:
- Lift your hands and shout with the voice of triumph. Thank Him, bless Him, shout halleluyah and declare your love for Jesus.
- O LORD, remember my country, in the Name of Jesus’.
- According to Genesis 19:20, Father, remember the church in Nigeria and the Global Church.

- I declare that I have come into my season. I have come into my programmed time; I have come into my scheduled moment. I decree it like Hannah did. Let the gates be opened. Let the door of my womb be opened. Let the door of prosperity be opened unto me. Let the door of favor be opened. Let the door of ministry be opened. Let the door of increase be opened. Let the door of blessing be opened. Let the door of promotion be opened. Let the door of light be opened. Let every door be opened, in the Name of Jesus. Thank you, LORD. Thank you for Jesus.
- I ask, O LORD, because of Grace and mercy, let today mark the end of every judgement against me and my family, in the mighty Name of Jesus.
