For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us… And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:” – 2 Cor. 1:20; Rev. 3:14
I bring you glad tidings in this last month of the year of Complete Restoration. In the past 11 months, we’ve “Commanded Our Gates”, experienced “Complete Restoration”, and “A Comeback”. “The Four Carpenters” have delivered into our hands what is rightly ours by the atonement of Jesus at Calvary. We have been “Made Significant by His Grace” and the LORD “Lifted Up Our Heads” in the month of June. He got us “Prepared for Joy” in July, “His Kingdom Came” in August and we started ‘Manifesting Our Dominion’ in September. We shouted “Halleluyah” in October, and got refocused on “Heaven by Revelation” in November, and to cap it up with a powerful AMEN! in December. His Word for us this month is “AMEN.”
WHAT IS AMEN?
God would rather not speak, than say what He will not do. He always ensures that His Word does not return to Him empty. Unlike Man, there is no promise too hard for God to fulfill. The passage of time never invalidates His Promise. “So, shall My Word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11). Every word of prophesy from January until now will surely happen before December 31, 2017 in the name of Jesus. The Hebrew word ‘amen’ means “true and binding; truly; that which is sure and valid, confirmed, supported, or upheld” (American Heritage Dictionary). Thus, when Jesus begins certain sayings by declaring “Amen, amen, I say to you . . . ” or rendered “truly, truly” or “verily, verily,” one might also translate it “certainly, certainly” or “most assuredly” (Evangelical Dictionary of Theology).
JESUS IS THE AMEN
From both Rev. 3:14 and 2 Cor. 1:20 quoted above, Jesus is the Amen! He is the Faithful and True Witness, He is ever faithful, ever sure! Numbers 23:19 assures us that, “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?” In addition, Col. 2:9-10 says, “For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him, which is the Head of all principality and power.”
AMEN – A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE
If you get the chance to, you can listen to a person pray in Chinese or Japanese or Swahili or German or French or Russian or Arabic, and very likely there is at least one word you will understand: “Amen.” It would probably be pronounced differently, but it ought to still be discernible. So, what we have all over the world today is a word, “Amen,” that is a direct transliteration from the Hebrew language.
Therefore, when one says “amen” in response to a prayer, it serves as an affirmation of agreement with the content of the prayer; an expression of faith that God will hear and act favorably on the prayer. Paul spoke to the church in Corinth, and while teaching on the word “Amen” said, “If you pray so people can’t understand you, how will they say “Amen?” (1 Cor. 14:16). Therefore, when a man or woman of God pours out his heart to God in a circle of prayer, the right response should be a deeply felt “Amen” in unison. It is also important to note that in the Old Testament the word “amen” was mainly a congregational response to give a strong affirmation or agreement to a curse or a word of blessing from God (Elwell, 1997).
PEOPLE THAT EXPERIENCED THE “AMEN” OF GOD
- In the deliverance of the children of Israel, God promised that He would set them free from captivity after 400 years. Their salvation did not come any sooner because they never cried and ask for deliverance, they seemed to have settled for living in misery. However, when they cried, God delivered them. God always ensures that His promises happen. This case of the children of Israel is a confirmation of Him keeping His promise, irrespective of the passage of time prior to fulfillment. I pray for you today that every one of God’s promises to you from January to December this year shall be fulfilled in your life, in Jesus’ Name.
- There is no prayer too hard for God to answer. As believers, we occasionally ask God for things that seem difficult for Him to deliver. Elijah told Elisha that his request for a double portion of Elijah’s spirit was almost impossible (2 Kings 2:9-10). However, the ever faithful, ever-sure Amen came through and Elisha did twice as many miracles as his spiritual father.
- At times, one is in a dire situation and it appears God is running late, as was the case with Lazarus (John 11:1-44). Jesus brought Lazarus back to life after he had been dead and buried for four days. I pray for you again that every seemingly hard or delayed situation in your life shall meet with God’s Resolution today, in Jesus’ Name.
- In Genesis 32:24 through Genesis 33:11, Jacob had the encounter of a lifetime that resulted in a divine blessing and a change of name. That blessing caused a change of heart in his previously estranged twin brother, who had sworn to kill him the next time they both saw each other.
- Blind Bartimaeus received a new lease on life when the LORD Jesus attended to him, despite the adversaries all around trying to shout him down. His cry for help was, “Jesus (Amen), Jesus (Amen)…Son of David, have mercy on me” (Mark 10:47-49).
We all experience difficult situations in our lives irrespective of our experiences, spirituality or knowledge. Abraham, Job, Moses, Paul, John are all patriarchs of faith yet they faced difficult situations. However, the Amen, ever faithful, ever sure came through for them. God loves to take the lost, the last, the least, and the lowest to make something beautiful out of their lives that He may gain maximal glory. He is inviting you to come to Him that you might be made whole. The Holy Bible is replete with stories of people who walked the face of this earth, long before our ancestors, and experienced the Amen of God with the result of the impossible made possible. I declare that it is your turn, your time, your season to experience the AMEN of God. As the LORD lives, you will not enter the new year without a shout of Amen! Halleluyah! in Jesus’ Name (Psalm 65:11).

- Every standing covenant with the devil that is giving the devil a legal access into my life, be revoked and annulled right now by fire in Jesus’ name
- Father, hasten to deliver me from every problem that is mocking You in my life.
- Wisdom to understand the times, seasons and purposes of God for my life, come upon me as from today in Jesus’ name.
- Father, please reverse the irreversible in my life and let every of Your promises to me come to fulfillment in Jesus’ Name.
- I receive power for expansion and enlargement, breaking through and breaking forth on all areas of my life as from today in Jesus’ Name.
- Crown this year for me with Your goodness. Psalm 65:11 says, “You have crowned the year with Your bounty, And Your paths drip with fatness.”
